QUEENSTOWN MOUNTAIN GUIDES
Queenstown Mountain guides is a mountain guiding and ski guiding company based in Queenstown New Zealand, at the foot of the Remarkables mountain range. We are a small boutique guiding company offering personalised experiences. Queenstown is our home and New Zealand’s Southern Alps is our backyard. From the local Remarkables mountain range through to the Mt Cook, Mt Aspiring, Fiordland, and West Coast glaciers we have years of experience climbing, skiing, trekking, and guiding in every corner of these incredible mountain areas.
Queenstown Mountain Guides offers a wide range of courses and private guiding in the New Zealand mountains. Ours trips include mountain guiding on New Zealands 3000m peaks, guided ski touring, avalanche courses, mountaineering courses, rock climbing and ice climbing. We organise private guiding for individuals & groups – from single day trips to week long expeditions in the NZ mountains.

CLIMB
New Zealand climbing & mountaineering. Queenstown Mountain Guides specialise in guided climbs of Mt Cook, Mt Aspiring, Mitre Peak and other significant New Zealand mountains. Learn climbing from professional IFMGA-UIAGM climbing guides on our New Zealand climbing courses.
The Queenstown climbing & mountaineering program focuses on guided climbs of Single Cone, the Remarkables Grand Traverse & mountaineering courses based on the Remarkables.
SKI
Ski touring & ski mountaineering. Queenstown Mountain Guides run professionally guided backcountry skiing, ski mountaineering & ski touring trips in Queenstown and on the glaciers of the Mt Cook skiing areas and the Fox & Franz Joseph alpine ski touring areas.
The New Zealand Ski touring season is between July & October. We offer road accessed & helicopter accessed alpine ski touring day trips & multi-day hut based trips on New Zealand’s glaciers.
HIKING & HELI-HIKING
Guided hiking & heli-hiking in the Remarkables, Mt Aspiring, Fiordland, & Mt Cook National parks. The South West New Zealand World heritage area features dramatic landscapes shaped by successive glaciations into fjords, rocky coasts, towering cliffs, lakes, and waterfalls.
Queenstown Mountain Guides trekking & hiking trips are for adventurous people looking for remote mountain experiences that can only be offered by a mountain guide.
COURSES
Learn climbing, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and avalanche skills with a Queenstown Mountain Guides group or private course.
In the summer season we offer beginner to advanced mountaineering and rock climbing courses in the Remarkables & the glaciated mountain areas.
In the winter we specialise in avalanche education and ski touring courses.
