OUR DAY
Our guide will pick you up at 8:30am and after introductions will check your clothing and equipment.
Its a 20 minute drive to the climbing area. Once we arrive at the carpark we will organise our climbing equipment and then start the 20 minute walk up to the climbing area. This is a spectacular walk through beach forest and on the route we pass streams and waterfalls. Above the tree line we have spectacular views of the turquoise blue lake Wakatipu and the mountains of the southern lakes area.
Once the climbing area we will get the ropes set up and teach you how to correctly put on harnesses and helmets. After a lesson on how to belay a climber we will start the climbing. You can expect a full day with plenty of climbing with challenges and fun for everyone no matter what your level of experience or fitness.
Throughout the day there will be time to have lunch and rest as needed. Bring a camera because you will want to capture the mountain and lake scenery as viewed from the climbing area.
We are normally back in the carpark by 4:00pm and will have you back to your accomodation in Queenstown by 5:00pm.

My girlfriend and I booked a day rock climbing with Mike. It was the best day of our trip! We had been climbing indoors for about a year and this was our first time climbing outdoors. Mike was an excellent guide, setting everything up, and teaching us the basics of climbing outside. It always felt like we were in safe hands. There were plenty of easy climbs to get us comfortable and in a beautiful location too. Couldn’t recommend this trip more highly.
