Privately guided bespoke hiking trip high in the mountains above Lake Wakatipu.

Let us take you on an adventure where you will hike, climb, and explore a spectacular mountain area. We use a helicopter to access remote and spectacular alpine areas.  These areas are difficult to access by foot so remain pristine and unspoilt.

This is an off trail adventure, so expect adventurous mountain travel walking and scrambling through an alpine tussock land.

On the Mountain & Lakes Heli Hike you will see mirror flat glacial tarns, schist outcrops and bluffs, unique flora and fauna, and spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains.

The mountains in the Queenstown region were sculpted by glaciers until 15,000 years ago when they started melting back and filling up Lake Wakatipu. The glaciers on the highest mountains in the area still exist and on a clear day it is possible to see the glaciated Mt Earnslaw and the other glaciers of the Mt Aspiring National Park. In the summer time the seasonal snow on the mid level peaks melts back to reveal a tussock, beech forest, and sub-alpine shrub land.

Thank you for putting together an unforgettable experience for the Leadership Team. Guillaume said that it was fantastic (albeit sometimes a bit hairy on the ridge). Seamless delivery and well organised. It was a pleasure working with you – your enthusiasm and straightforward approach was much appreciated and we hope to be able to recommend your business for another event soon.
