SNOWSHOEING
An adventurous backcountry snowshoeing trip in the Remarkables mountain range.
From backcountry areas we visit you will have mind blowing views of the mountains of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. On a clear day it is possible to get views of Mt Aspiring, Mt Cook, and the Fiordland mountains.
The Queenstown Backcountry Snowshoeing trip is a great first backcountry experience. You will be inspired when you see the terrain the climbers and skiers visit in the winter season.
This is an exciting and rewarding half day of alpine travel. You will need a medium level of fitness and be confident at moving on uneven terrain where no trail exists. Your guide will lead the trip from the front breaking trail through the soft pristine backcountry powder snow. All of our guides are specialist professional mountain guides that normally guide high alpine peaks so you will be in safe hands. Our guides will assist you and inform you about mountaineering and skiing in the backcountry and high glaciated mountains.

It is important that you keep as close as possible to the equipment checklist. The focus is on ensuring that you have the equipment you need, but also on keeping your pack as light as possible.
